La Maca : Proprietà ed applicazioni nutritive

In virtù delle sue eccellenti qualità nutrizionali, molto simili a quelle dei cereali, la radice del Maca costituisce tuttora un componente fondamentale della dieta delle popolazioni andine.1 Studi scientifici confermano che il Maca è veramente un alimento completo, ed essiccato è in grado di mantenere inalterate per anni le sue caratteristiche nutritive. La radice disidratata, infatti, è ricca in carboidrati (59%) e proteine (10.2%), ma possiede un modesto tenore di lipidi (2.2%)e un discreto contenuto di fibre (8.5%); particolarmente rilevante è il contenuto di aminoacidi e acidi grassi essenziali, nonché di vitamine (A, B1, B2, B12, C, D, E), sali minerali (calcio, ferro, fosforo, rame, potassio, magnesio, zinco). 

 

La Maca incrementa le riserve energetiche, la resistenza e la forza fisica, promuovendo uno stato di generale benessere; la sua assunzione come integratore, quindi, è consigliabile in caso di carenze alimentari, all’interno di un regime dietetico controllato, ma soprattutto per gli atleti e per gli sportivi in generale.

 

Proprietà toniche. Benché priva di caffeina, la radice del Maca vanta proprietà stimolanti sul sistema nervoso, incrementando le capacità di concentrazione, [vi] la lucidità mentale e la memoria. Per le sue proprietà toniche ed energetiche il Maca si è rivelato un aiuto estremamente valido per chi soffre di sindrome da stanchezza cronica e depressione, per chi svolge un’attività intellettuale impegnativa (es. studenti, managers, ecc.) e per superare momenti di particolare stress psico-fisico
